Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update
Tuesday 17th March 10:00
As the situation is changing hour by hour, it is difficult to say what the long term effects will be on the Studios. For the moment, the Studios remains open, but parents must make the ultimate decision as to whether or not their children should attend.
The Government has advised that the public should not attend pubs, clubs, restaurants, etc., and should restrict any non-essential social contact, however, we have not been forced to close as of yet, so we will try to continue with business as usual while ever we can.
Should schools be closed by government for the preservation of public health, we will immediately review the situation.
We are in close communication with other similar organisations and sharing any advice we are given.
We must stress that although the Studios will remain open at present, it is entirely your choice as to whether or not you attend.
If you feel unwell, please do not attend sessions.
We are asking that you let us know if you are
Or for any reason not planning to attend classes
You can do this by:
Telephone: 01246 271540
Facebook messenger: facebook.com/chesterfieldstudios
Please bear with us if you don’t receive an immediate response.
We are waiting to hear from Chesterfield Theatres about forthcoming performances and will notify you as soon as we have any definite news.
General Advice for the Studios Community
We strongly suggest that members of the Studios community rely upon information about the virus drawn from official sources, such as the websites of the NHS and Public Health England.
Where advice from these sources changes, we will continue to send out information to you about this. The Directors are convening currently at least once a day to discuss Coronavirus-related matters and their impact upon the Studios.
Overall the message is ‘business as usual’ whilst we actively monitor the situation and make timely decisions as the situation changes.
Reducing the chance of infection at the Studios
The medical advice is unanimous that regular washing and disinfection of hands is a practical and effective measure to reduce risk. Posters are displayed around the Studios providing advice on the virus and how to stop it spreading.
How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus.
Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
Always wash your hands when you get home or into work
Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
Put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
If you feel unwell
In line with Government advice, if you feel even mildly unwell (e.g. with a cough, and cold-like symptoms), please do not come into the Studios and self-isolate for seven days. In such circumstances, there will be no need to seek medical advice, such as through calling 111. If your condition deteriorates, you are strongly advised to call 111.
