The Rose Choir

The Rose Choir is a mixed voice chamber choir with some thirty to forty members. The choir tackles some challenging repertoire at a pace that suits the members.

In 2018, we performed Vivaldi's Gloria and Patrick Hawes Song of Songs accompanied by orchestra at the Annunciation Church in Chesterfield.

The choir have also performed with the world famous Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

The conductor is Jonathan Francis and the accompanist is Helen Wallace Batley.

There is no audition to join the choir but some singing ability is required. Regular attendance is required to ensure the quality of the final performance.

The choir meets on Thursdays 7.30pm - 9.30pm.

The fee is £12 per month by direct debit.

The Rose Choir has rehearsed online throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic and is now waiting to return to in-person rehearsals. Please contact us if you would like to join.

In 2019, we celebrated ten years of Chesterfield Studios with a joint concert with the young singers from Chesterfield Studios musical theatre groups. The concert, accompanied by orchestra, played to a packed church at St Thomas', Brampton.

After this, we prepared for our Christmas Concert, again joined by the young singers and Peak Wind Orchestra and sang at St Peter's Church, Edensor on the Chatsworth Estate for the Canine Partners Carol Service.
