Our adult programme offers a similar range of groups to our young people's classes.
The groups meet during term time and offer some great opportunities for adults to get involved with the performing arts at a centre which enjoys a strong reputation for nurturing and developing the talent of its membership.
It's not just for kids, you know
From adult tap to the Rose Choir, Chesterfield Studios offers some great opportunities for adults to improve and perform.
The Rose Choir
The Rose Choir is a mixed voice chamber choir with some thirty to forty members. The choir tackles some challenging repertoire at a pace that suits the members.
In 2018, we performed Vivaldi's Gloria and Patrick Hawes Song of Songs accompanied by orchestra at the Annunciation Church in Chesterfield.
The choir have also performed with the world famous Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The conductor is Jonathan Francis and the accompanist is Helen Wallace Batley.
There is no audition to join the choir but some singing ability is required. Regular attendance is required to ensure the quality of the final performance.
The choir meets on Thursdays 7.30pm - 9.30pm.
The fee is £12 per month by direct debit.
In 2019, we celebrated ten years of Chesterfield Studios with a joint concert with the young singers from Chesterfield Studios musical theatre groups. The concert, accompanied by orchestra, played to a packed church at St Thomas', Brampton.
After this, we prepared for our Christmas Concert, again joined by the young singers and Peak Wind Orchestra and sang at St Peter's Church, Edensor on the Chatsworth Estate for the Canine Partners Carol Service.
Adult Musical Theatre
After a trial period as Theatre & Beyond, performing Cabaret, Chess and Sister Act, our new adult theatre group, Company, has now begun.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm - 9.30pm with a focus on building skills and working together to create strong, cohesive pieces of theatre.
This term, the focus of the group is on skills building.
